The PhD Dissertation Award was presented to Dr. Julia Wong by her supervisor, Dr. Jenkins.  Another bright star to look out for in the future.

Dr. Hope Weiler (McGill University) receives the Centrum Foundation New Scientist Award from Dr. Walid Aldoori.  Dr. Weiler is a Canada Research Chair and conducts important research on Vitamin D and bone. 

Dr. Mary L’Abbe receives the McHenry Award from Dr. Anderson for distinguished service. Dr. L’Abbe is currently the Chair of the Department of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Toronto.

There was more “nutritional science” discussion around the tables at the Closing Banquet.      

The conference came to a close with a successful dinner reception.  Distinguished service and young talent were recognized throughout the evening.
